Wrinkles In Time
I sit and stare at my hands, at the wrinkles
and
wonder what time has done to me?
My face is tired, my eyes weak, what has
time done to me?
I have no energy, it is suppressed for times that I need
it most.
Energy to be harvested like a garden, stored for winter
use.
I am not happy inside, but on the outside I appear to
shine.
For those who see me from a distance, I look vibrant, young and
free.
To those who know me, I am scarred, worn out and tired.
I am
but a survivor in time, no more, no less.
